Do you know how Rochester got its wheels?

The Rochester Wheels is the only competitive wheelchair basketball team in western New York and it’s still going strong after 40 years.

"It offers hope," said Jack Smith, former wheelchair basketball athlete and retired RIT vice president who helped establish The Rochester Wheels.

"It's not about your disability. It's about what you can do," said the late Steve Barbato, beloved player and coach of The Rochester Wheels whose legacy continues to influence players on and off the court.
